Cooxupe (Cooperativa Regional de Cafeicultores em Guaxupe Ltda) is the world’s largest coffee-growers cooperative with over 12,000 members and over 5 million 60-kilo bags produced annually. Cooxupe’s main operation is located in Guaxupe, Sul de Minas but its growers are located throughout the growing regions in Minas Gerais and Sao Paolo states. Cooxupe is committed to traceability, care for the environment and sustainable coffee production – over 40% of their farmers are participating in at least one certification or verification coffee program.
An important function of the Cooperative is to provide agricultural assistance to members. Soil analysis is provided by professional agronomists who also instruct on latest planting methods, tree varieties and pest controls. The Cooperative also has credit facilities to support its members and products and technical assistance to increase productivity and improve quality on the farms.
