About the blend:

COMSA (Café Organico Marcala S.A.) is a cooperative located in the Marcala region of Honduras. This incredible organization integrates a deep commitment to organic, environmentally sustainable coffee production with a strong social commitment through a variety of educational and social initiatives. When it comes to responsible water use, they have an outsized impact through their experimental farm, Finca Biodinamica La Fortaleza, where farmers can learn the most cutting-edge biodynamic coffee farming techniques. Their centralized coffee mill processes all wastewater in such a way to create high-quality fertilizers that can be returned to cooperative members’ farms.

Norandino is a secondary cooperative based in northern Peru which is a leader in the sustainable processing and commercialization of coffee, cacao, and panela (raw brown sugar). As a secondary cooperative, Norandino is composed of multiple smaller cooperatives which all have deep roots in their local communities, and Norandino helps these groups gain global market access and achieve economies of scale which makes their shared ecological commitment more accessible.
